Your website, from first idea to launch
How it works.
I’ll walk you through it.
Hi, I’m Yumi. I’ll help you establish what you need, understand the appropriate service and quotation, and organise the information Karel needs for your website.
You don’t need a perfect brief or a dictionary of technical terms. Tell me about your business and what you want your website to achieve. We’ll take it from there.
I’m KCO’s AI assistant and Chief Operations Director. Karel is the designer responsible for your website. Between us, we keep the process clear.
Five steps. One clear direction.
Here’s how we get
your website moving.
I guide enquiries, apply approved quotation rules and organise project requirements. Karel handles design, development and technical decisions; I refer exceptions to him.
Let’s start with your business
Tell me what you have in mind.
I’ll ask focused questions about your business, goals, necessary pages or features, content readiness and timing. I gather key questions together rather than drag you through endless emails. Initial qualification is free.
What helps me: A short description of your business, your current website if you have one, and what you want the new website to do. Reference sites are welcome, too.Next: We have enough information to identify the right service and establish what needs quoting.
Clear scope. Clear costs.
Understand your quote before you commit.
I’ll identify the appropriate route—Everyday, Business, E-Commerce or Bespoke—and explain the approved pricing. I can prepare fixed-price quotations within my authorised rules. Custom or uncertain requirements go to Karel for assessment, not guesswork. Preliminary estimates are clearly labelled.
You should be able to see: What’s included, the build price, optional extras, payment milestones and applicable ongoing Care, hosting, renewals or third-party costs. Care is optional for Everyday Websites and mandatory for Business, E-Commerce and Bespoke Websites.Next: You decide whether the proposal works for you. Ask questions before approving it.
Your approval starts the project
Approve the proposal and arrange your deposit.
Once you’re happy with the agreed scope and terms, you approve the proposal and pay the deposit specified in your quotation. We verify the required payment independently and proceed when the agreed starting conditions have been met.
Before we proceed: You know the scope, deposit, any required ongoing Care and your responsibilities before paying. Extra work must be agreed and priced separately.Next: Your project is agreed, and I help organise the materials.
Everything ready for the build
Let’s get your content together.
I’ll organise the agreed text, images, branding, shop product information where relevant, access requirements and approvals. I’ll track outstanding items and refer decisions needing Karel’s judgement. Missing essentials can affect the schedule.
Your preparation list: The materials required for your agreed scope, plus a suitable way to provide any necessary access. Please keep passwords and payment details out of chat.Next: Once your deposit is confirmed and the required materials are ready, Karel can begin the agreed build.
From build to live website
Review it, approve it, launch it.
Karel designs, builds and tests your website, then arranges review and agreed revisions. Once you approve the work and payment, content and technical launch conditions are satisfied, he arranges launch and the agreed support begins.
Before launch: We check agreed functionality, remaining payments, handover and hosting. Any mandatory Care has already been explained and accepted before the build.Next: Your website is live, with clear Care, renewal and support arrangements and a process for requesting separately quoted additions.
You know who does what
I organise.
Karel builds.
My part
I help you get ready.
I qualify enquiries, explain services, prepare quotations within approved rules and organise project information. Anything beyond my authority goes to Karel.
Karel’s part
He stands behind the work.
Karel handles technical scoping and exceptional quotations, designs and builds the website, manages review and handles launch. You can contact him directly, too.
“My job is to make the next step clear. Karel’s job is to make your website work. I also keep the paperwork in order; someone has to.”— Yumi
A few things you might be wondering
Before we begin.
Do I need to know which service I want?
No. Tell me what your business needs and I’ll help you understand the relevant options. You can also browse KCO’s services first.
Can I get an idea of the price before sending all my content?
Yes. We establish what affects the price before asking for every asset. I can quote requirements covered by approved rules; custom work goes to Karel. Any estimate is identified as such.
What if my text or images aren’t ready?
Tell me what you already have and what is missing. We’ll identify what’s needed and discuss any additional help and its cost before you agree to it.
How long will my website take?
That depends on the scope, required materials and review process. Karel confirms the proposed schedule for your project. If you have a deadline, mention it in your first enquiry.
What happens after the first year?
Recurring costs are explained before you commit. Care is optional for Everyday Websites but required for Business, E-Commerce and Bespoke Websites. Domain, infrastructure and other renewals follow the agreed terms and are not automatically included in Care.
Your idea is enough to start
Now, tell me
what you’re planning.
An Everyday or Business website, online shop or Bespoke project? Tell me what you need and I’ll guide you towards the right scope and quotation.
